Parenthood, Part Three – Parenting with a Persistent Faith

Parenthood, Part 3 - SlideThis message is the third in the series Parenthood: Raising our Children by Raising our Faith.

At the center of this week’s message is the story of an amazing woman of faith and a devoted mother. The Syrophoenician woman of Mark 7:24-30 presents an incredible example of  a mother who parents with persistent faith.

In the parallel account of this event in Matthew 15, Jesus tells the woman, “Great is your faith.” The message for this week recounts the story of this woman and it considers the greatness of her faith!

This woman conveys a strong belief in the power of God’s grace and mercy revealed in the person of Jesus. This mother, also, conveys great faith in her daughter – she believes in the potential for her daughter to be made well; she believes in the potential for her daughter to be the person God intends for her to be; and, she believes in the potential for her daughter to possess an abundant life God through Jesus!

She does not simply believe; she acts! She parents with a persistent faith: she trust God by relying on Jesus; she remains the greatest advocate of her child; and, she never quits her child!

Take a moment to listen to Parenthood, Part Three to learn more about this incredible mother and allow her to inspire you to parent with a persistent faith!
