Parenthood is a privilege (and a blessing). Parenthood provides parents the privilege of participating in the life of a child. Parents participate by assuming responsibility for the care, nurture, and development of the child – for this reason, there is purpose to parenthood.

There is a greater purpose, still. From a Christian perspective, there is a greater purpose to parenthood reaching beyond the care, nurture, and development of a child.  Continue reading

Shine Like Stars: Young People and the 2016 Election

A few years ago, I started hosting “Parties at the Parsonage with the Pastor,” or PPP’s, as they have come to be known. The PPP’s were informal gatherings for members of my church the week before Christmas.
